Installing & Updating

Protocall is a web app and requires no installation. Protocall Agent is a local webserver which needs to be run on your machine in order for the web app to make outbound requests, which is impossible to do directly from the browser due to CORS restrictions. The webserver imposes its own CORS restrictions to prevent other domains from communicating with it, and uses additional authentication to prevent unauthorized non-browser processes from communicating with it. Protocall Agent is supported on Windows and MacOS via a Docker container, and on Linux as a binary executable (see a full list of supported OS/architecture combinations here.)
